Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) said that fundamental rights petitions will be filed at the Supreme Courts on behalf of the three students of the Sri Jayawardenapura University who were arrested last week and are currently being held by the CID for interrogations.
“We are also planning to file complaints at the Human Rights Commission regarding the unlawful arrest of these students. We will also be taking steps to raise awareness on the human rights violation of these students both locally and internationally,” IUSF Convener Sanjeewa Bandara said speaking at a press briefing today.
