Finance secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundara has tendered his resignation, according to political sources.
Dr. Jayasundara has handed in his letter of resignation to president Mahinda Rajapaksa moments before he embarked on a visit to Russia, said the sources.
Attempts by ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ to contact the finance secretary for a comment were unsuccessful. A senior minister of the government reached by us said he could not say anything, since he was unaware of Dr. Jayasundara having tendered his resignation.
