Opposition Leaders Ranil Wickramasinghe today allege that the government was trying to cripple the Parliament with its recent actions and that the House was not given an opportunity to discuss burning issues in the country.
The Opposition Leader added that by forcing the University entrants to undergo compulsory leadership training without discussing it in the Parliament and defeating the Right to Information Bill, the government was trying to cripple the parliament.
The government has violated Article 42 of the Constitution by doing this with its actions and it is not giving the Parliament an opportunity to discuss burning issues in the country, Opposition Leaders Ranil Wickramasinghe said. (Daily Mirror)
